​Washers and aspirators are essential laboratory instruments designed for the efficient cleaning and maintenance of microplates and the safe removal of liquids from various vessels. Washers, such as the Intelispeed Washer IW-8, are fully programmable devices tailored for washing standard flat-bottom 96-well plates and microstrips. They offer multi-step solution handling, including dispensing, aspiration, soaking, and mixing, ensuring thorough cleaning and preparation of plates for subsequent analyses. Aspirators, like the FTA-1 and FTA-2i models, are engineered to aspirate or remove residual liquids, such as alcohol or buffers, from microtest tubes during procedures like DNA/RNA purification. These devices create negative pressure in a trapping flask using a built-in microcompressor, facilitating efficient liquid removal. Equipped with features like hydrophobic microbiological filters to prevent contamination and level sensors to prevent overflow, aspirators ensure safety and reliability in liquid handling tasks.
